I’m Afeared

That’s what my daddy says, I think that is how I remember his mom, my grannie saying it, instead of “I’m afraid”.

The Bible tells us not to be afriad, but it does tell us to be in fear…of God.  I’m not sure if that is why Daddy says it like that or if it is just because we talk funny in the backwoods of Tennessee.

Women seem to be more “afeared” of things than men…or they admit to their fears more easily than men.    Fear keeps us from doing lots of things….sleep mostly, for me.  But God wants us to put our fears in His hands and He in turns gives us peace.

But how exactly do you do that?  Well….I don’t know.

However, there is this book out, by one of my favorite authors and she just might have the answer or at least a good story about how she worked out her fears.

You may have heard of her, Angie Smith.  She’s got this book called “What Women Fear” that came out a few months ago and I have a whole case the I gave out to the ladies in my church…so they could all love her too.

(clicking on the photo will take you to a book club reading with webcasts for this book)

But I have a few left that I want to give away here.  I’m willing to mail you…unless you live next door, then I’ll drop it off, a copy of her book.  I have 5 copies…okay maybe 8….that I am going to give away.

Pretty simple….first 5…or 8…people that leave a comment get a book.  You have to have an email address so I can get your mailing address.   It’s going to be a short time frame because I want to get these mailed on Wednesday.  So….

Do you want a copy?  Leave a comment!  If you got here by way of Facebook or Twitter and aren’t able to leave comments here…DM me!

There is a small string attached….but I’ll tell about that when I send you your copy.
